About Eben
Feeling overwhelmed or just need someone to talk to? I enjoy supporting clients in working through life's challenges together. My practice includes children, youth, adults, families, and couples, with counseling tailored to your needs.
I have worked for nearly a decade as a private psychotherapist in Santa Cruz County, serving individuals, couples, and families, facing a variety of challenges, such as relationship issues, stress, anxiety, depression, autism, grief, and loss. Many of us just need someone to talk to who can listen without judgment and offer guidance and support. I enjoy being that person for people, working together with my clients to reach their goals.
In addition to my private practice, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens, and families in a variety of settings. I’ve worked as a school-based therapist at Mountain Elementary in Soquel, providing one-on-one therapy with students, leading family groups, and helping kids build social and emotional skills.
I’ve also worked with the Listen Foundation, a local nonprofit that supports adults with autism, Down Syndrome, and other developmental disabilities in residential care. Earlier in my training, I spent several years at a residential treatment center, working closely with children and adolescents facing emotional and mental health challenges. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how to connect with all sorts of people, including young people and individuals with developmental differences—with compassion, patience, and respect for each person’s unique story.
If you’re looking for a therapist who can collaborate with others in your support system, I’m comfortable working as part of a team. Whether that means communicating with your child’s school, coordinating with other mental health providers, or helping navigate systems like the courts, I bring experience from working in education and other settings where teamwork matters.
Together, we’ll decide what kind of support makes the most sense for you, and I’ll work alongside you to make sure our therapy fits your unique needs.
Before becoming a licensed psychotherapist, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz and worked as substitute teacher. I am grateful to live in Santa Cruz, where I immerse myself as often as possible in the incredible ecosystems on our doorstep, from the forest and rivers of the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Monterey Bay. I enjoy traveling, hiking, surfing, and spending quality time with my family, including my wife and our two daughters.
